Accounts Assistant - Semi Senior


Doncaster or Rotherham

Job purpose

To prepare accounts for corporate clients for all partners in order to provide the clients with efficient and cost effective accountancy, taxation and VAT services that meet their needs and those of the regulatory authorities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a professional working relationship with clients and liasing with colleagues so that Allotts can comply with clients’ reasonable requests for assistance
  • Conducting audit and accountancy assignments in the office or on clients’ premises
  • Performing accounts related administrative and secretarial duties including preparation of management accounting, bank and balance sheet reconciliation’s, bookkeeping duties
  • Prepare VAT return
  • Support and train junior members of the team so as to enable them to develop
  • Attending courses when required to develop personal skills and maintaining a record of an adequate level of CPD
  • Representing and promoting the firm in formal and informal situations, attending seminars and networking events as a representative of the firm

Knowledge, skill and experience requirements


  • ICT – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • SAGE Line 50, Xero, IRIS


  • AAT Qualified or ACCA part qualified


  • 2 plus years’ experience working within a firm of chartered accountants
